PIECHOWIAK ODDS & ENDS
During the course of my research I have run across information or taken pictures of gravestones for PIECHOWIAK of which I cannot verify a relationship to my family. I, howver, felt it necessary to collect the data/pictures in the event that someday a relationship could be verified. I have decidied to include it as part of this web site in hopes that someone viewing it may recognize the data or pictures and supply me information.
The following were from grave markers collected at St Stans cemetery or their record office in Bay City, MI and The Eaglet:
Antonia & Vincent Piechowiak...last named is engraved on top of headstone..they lived at 1500 S Raymond in Bay City. A son WALENTY died April 20, 1930 but gravesite is unknown.
Anthony Piechowiak, included in "The Eaglet" January 1984 in story about Polanders in Bay City. In the article it states he was on the founding committee along with John Piechowiak (not my John) for St. Hedwig Church. The Silver Jubilee Book for St. Hedwig's states: " A meeting was held in Mr. A. Piechowiak's hall, on June 2, 1907, and arrangements were made to purchase a public school building which was to serve both as a church and a school building. The land was donated by Mr. A. Piechowiak." In the Polk City Directory he is listed as a manager of West Bay City Cooperage...a saloon. His residence was 1309 S Wenona Ave. Wife was EVA. They had at least 3 children: HELEN, JOZEF & JEROME.
